The Ferrari 246 Dino (1969), here in its signature red paintwork, is a stunning
example of Ferrari's commitment to producing not just high-performance
cars but also works of art.
The Dino series was Ferrari's tribute to
Alfredo "Dino" Ferrari, Enzo Ferrari's son, and it introduced a new
level of accessibility and refinement to the Ferrari lineup. The 246 Dino was powered by a mid-mounted 2.4-litre
V6 engine, producing 195bhp, sufficient to propel the lightweight car
to 148mph.
What truly set the Dino apart, however, was its design. The sensual
curves, flowing lines, and low stance created one of the most beautiful
cars of its era. The Pininfarina-designed body was as much a sculptural
masterpiece as it was a functional sports car, with every detail serving
both form and function. The 246 Dino handled with great finesse thanks to its
balanced weight distribution and sophisticated suspension setup, making
it a joy to drive on winding roads or the track.
Although it lacked the Ferrari badge initially, the Dino gained immense
popularity and is now revered as one of Ferrari's most iconic models.
The bright red paint sets off the car's timeless beauty, and the 246
Dino stands as a lasting tribute to the brand's innovation and the
legacy of Dino Ferrari.
