The Jaguar E-Type Low Drag from 1962 is a rare and highly modified
car built for racing with improved aerodynamics and a lightweight aluminium body. The streamlined shape was penned by the
original E-Type designer Malcolm Sayer, the refinements enhancing its top speed and handling on the racetrack.
The Low Drag was powered by a 3.8-litre straight-six
engine tuned for maximum performance. Its aggressive looks and
raw power made it a formidable competitor in endurance races such as Le
Mans where Jaguar were keen to continue their racing legacy. The silver
bodywork gleams with purpose and hints at the
car's rich motorsport heritage, and so the Low Drag remains one of the most
beautiful and sought-after Jaguar racing cars ever built.
